Boynton's new series of works on paper are rendered with exuberant, gestural zest, as she continues to delve deep into the realms of the inner child, emotional conflict, and psychology. Lippa's oils examines contemporary culture's state of continuous motion. She posits the notion that we have lost the ability to punctuate time, and that our individual experiences are no longer distinct, but instead blend into the miasma that is the passage of time.
Dusty Boynton. Out of Line
Denise Bibro Fine Art is pleased to present Dusty Boynton: Out of Line, the artist’s fifth solo show at the gallery, on view October 21 through December 11, 2010. Boynton’s new series of works on paper are rendered with exuberant, gestural zest, as she continues to delve deep into the realms of the inner child, emotional conflict, and psychology.
Boynton approaches her work with a sense of immediacy, transparency, and vulnerability. As Donald Kuspit notes in his essay, “Boynton’s works are as timelessly fresh as ever: the inner child remains alive and well in her art. He goes on to add that she is “a masterful colorist and gesturalist, but above all, her works are painterly drawings.”
Out of Line refers not only to Boynton’s maverick mark making, but to the raw demeanor and unpredictable behavior of her subjects. At times joyous, but also embodying anger, fear, regret, and self-doubt, they are humble creatures to whom we somehow all relate.
Boynton has shown at Littlejohn Contemporary, New York, NY; Gallery Jupiter, Little Silver, NJ; and Steffany Martz Gallery, New York, NY. Selected group exhibitions include In the Garden at Barbara Krakow in Boston, MA; New Prints, 2002 at the International Print Center, New York, NY; Book, Box, Word, Volume II at the University of Florida and the North Miami Contemporary Art Center. Her work has been reviewed in ArtNews, Art in America, The New York Times, Arts Magazine, and New Art Examiner

Linda Lippa. Fleeting Moments
Denise Bibro Fine Art is pleased to present Linda Lippa: Fleeting Moments, on view in our adjunct gallery, Space 4, October 21 – November 20, 2010. Lippa’s new series of oils examines contemporary culture’s state of continuous motion. She posits the notion that we have lost the ability to punctuate time, and that our individual experiences are no longer distinct, but instead blend into the miasma that is the passage of time. Juxtaposing highly rendered backgrounds with blurred subjects in the foreground, the artist conveys the sense of speed and perpetual motion that is our present day reality. Many canvases depict night scenes, providing the added drama of neon, and the luminous glow of car and street lights.
Lippa’s recent group exhibitions include Zimmerli Museum, New Brunswick, NJ, which acquired a painting for their collection; UBS Art Gallery, NYC; Dana Gallery, Newark, NJ; Longview Museum, Longview, TX; Belskie Museum, Closter, NJ; Traveling the Carolinas, National Association of Women Artists, NYC; Cambridge Art Association, MA; Cornell Museum, Del Ray, FL. Recent solo exhibitions include the Museo de Arte Acariqua-Araure in Venezuela; Gallery Galou, NYC; Gallery on the Vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Gallery Magritte, Tucson, AZ; Edward Williams Gallery, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and John Harms Center for the Arts, all in NJ. Lippa’s notices include Art News, The New York Times, Gallery and Studio, Forbes Magazine, and The Bergen Record of NJ. Her work is included in both private and public collections.
