Exhibition of Frank Worths Photographic Collection
Christies have described the Frank Worth Collection of unpublished Hollywood photographs, as The most extraordinary collection of its kind for the past fifty years.
Frank Worth is barely known, even in photographic circles. During the 1940s and 1950s, most photographers were tightly controlled by a powerful studio system
that harboured and protected its celebrity property.
However, as a friend to the stars, Frank escaped these restrictions and his collection of 10,000 photographs
taken between 1939 and 1964 give a rare insight into a world previously inaccessible to the public.
His work illustrates the intimacy of his relationship with the stars
depicting Hollywoods greatest legends including Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor in relaxed and unusual
poses.
