Opening reception: Tuesday November 26, 2002 6 - 8 PM

Von Lintel Gallery is pleased to announce ZENROXY, an exhibition of abstract paintings, curated by Ivan Vera.

The works assembled in this show all share intimate and meditative qualities. Each painting provides a sound foundation for discovering individual truths culled from the metaphysics of abstraction.

Embracing the physical restraints of the medium as a challenge, the artists assembled codify abstraction into individual idioms. Often, the unique systematized approaches respond directly to the challenges of Abstract Expressionism. ZENROXY presents a collective advocacy statement for abstract painting by assembling a group of its most challenging practitioners.

ZENROXY is about a special sense of time and place - and how we've arrived. Together.

The works on view range from different generations of painters, including:
James Bishop, Ross Bleckner, Richmond Burton, Shoshana Dentz, Moira Dryer, Stephen Ellis, Bernard Frize, Paul Feeley, Louise Fishman, Sabine Friesicke, Joe Fyfe, Christian Garnett, Jacqueline Humphries, Damian Hirst, Prudencio Irazabal, Valerie Jaudon, Bill Jensen, Joseph Marioni, Joan Mitchell, Stephen Mueller, Thomas Nozkowski,
James Nares, Paul Pagk, Gerhard Richter, David Row, Robert Ryman, Mark Sheinkman, Pat Steir, Philip Taaffe, Juan Usle, Marc Van Cauwenbergh, Robert Zandvliet, John Zinsser.
