Illumination often seems to emanate from one single source or inspiration. This exhibition explores the intimacy of distinctive 'luminous' effects - how even the smallest radiant energy can bring a particular openness and expression unique to its medium and form. Bright images, objects, moments and feelings require specific attention.
Illumination often seems to emanate from one single source or inspiration. This exhibition explores the intimacy of distinctive 'luminous' effects - how even the smallest radiant energy can bring a particular openness and expression unique to its medium and form. Bright images, objects, moments and feelings require specific attention. If we are patient to examine the source of these illuminations, we might be led to observe their opposites: darkness, the ephemeral, timelessness, indifference. This dialectic is what creates the friction of change. To illuminate the self is to pay homage to the necessary friction that drives us to create and recreate our world.
"Illuminated Self" curated by Jolanta Gora-Wita will run January 11 to February 2 at Aquatic Creations Gallery.
