Lisa Cooley is thrilled to announce the opening of Today, the first exhibition in our new space at 107 Norfolk Street, one block east of Essex between Delancey and Rivington. The new gallery is a 4,800 square-foot, single-story structure with two exhibition spaces and 14 foot wood-beamed ceilings. The inaugural exhibition will feature major works by each gallery artist and is titled after a Frank O'Hara poem.

Michael Bauer recently moved to New York from Berlin, and will have his first solo show at the gallery in May 2012. He currently has work on view in a group show at Foxy Productions and recent solo shows include Peter Kilchmann, Zurich; Norma Mangione, Turin; Villa Merkel, Esslingen am Neckar, Germany and Kunsthaus Baselland, Basel. JRP Ringier published a monograph of his work, which is titled Borwasser, and includes an essay by Jennifer Higgie. We are pleased to announce that Michael is now represented by Alison Jacques in London.

Alice Channer lives in London and is the newest addition to our roster. She works with The Approach in London, and is working on her first two European solo museum shows at the South London Gallery (2012) and the Hepworth-Wakefield (2013). Her work is included in the Tate Collection and the Zabludowicz Collection, among others. Her first solo show at the gallery will be in Fall 2012.

Andy Coolquitt will present the first solo show in our new space, titled chair w/paintings, which will open on March 30th. A major survey of his work, titled Attainable Excellence will open at AMOA-Arthouse in Austin, Texas in September 2012, and will travel to the Blaffer Art Museum in Houston, Texas in Spring of 2013 . A 167 page monograph, published by UT Press will accompany the exhibition and will feature essays by Rachel Hooper, Dan Fox, Matthew Higgs, and Jan Tumlir. The D.Daskalopolous Collection recently acquired a major work by the artist titled, +, which debuted at Locust Projects this past fall.

Cynthia Daignault is the recipient of a 2011 Rema Hort Mann Foundation Grant. She edited the monograph Sean Landers: 1990-1995, Improbable History, which was published by JRP Ringier. Her recent solo show at White Columns was reviewed in the October issue of Artforum and her first solo show at the gallery will be next season. We will be presenting her completed painting edition, CCTV Monitor, as a final farewell to Orchard Street from March 7 - 11 and will have a closing reception on the 11th from 6-8pm.

Josh Faught currently has work in the exhibition Material Occupation at the Albany University Art Museum. He won the prestigious Betty Bowen Award from the Seattle Art Museum in 2009 and subsequently had a solo show there. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Rubell Family Collection. He is a 2011 recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant. His next solo show will be at the gallery in June 2012.

Frank Haines recently performed at Santos Party House and the Pyramid Club, both in New York. Other performances and exhibitions include PS 1/MoMa, New York; Jack Hanley Gallery, San Francisco; Three Walls, Chicago; the Torrance Art Museum, California; Frank Elbaz Galerie, Paris; and Krinzinger Projekte, Vienna; Basso, Berlin; and AMP, Athens, Greece. This summer, he will curate an exhibition at the gallery titled Witch Favors.

Alex Olson's work is included in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Recent exhibitions include Laura Bartlett Gallery, London; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and the Swiss Institute, New York. This spring she will present a solo show at Shane Campbell Gallery, followed by a solo show at the gallery in September 2012.

Jon Pestoni has recently exhibited at Nieuw Dakota in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and White Flag Projects in Saint Louis, Missouri. His next solo show will be at David Kordansky in the fall of 2012. His work is included in the Rubell Family Collection and was featured in the most recent edition of Vitamin P.

Alan Reid has recently exhibited at Mary Mary, Glasgow; Galerie Jacky Strenz, Frankfurt; Talbot Rice, Edinburgh; A Palazzo Gallery, Brescia; and was included in Keno Twins 5, curated by Michael Bauer at Barriera,Torino. He will present a solo show at A Palazzo Gallery in May and his next solo show in New York will be in the spring of 2013.

Erin Shirreff's solo show of photographs, and sculpture titled Available Light is on view at the Carleton University Art Gallery in Ottawa and will travel in 2012-13 to the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston and the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver. An accompanying monograph of her work designed by Purtill Family Business is forthcoming in 2013. She has taken part in recent group exhibitions at the Approach, London; Nouveau Musée National de Monaco; White Cube, London; the Aspen Art Museum; MCA Denver; The Power Plant, Toronto; MoMA PS1; and Sculpture Center. “Sculpture for Snow,” an outdoor work commissioned by the Public Art Fund, is currently installed in downtown Brooklyn. She was artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation in 2011 and recently received the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Guggenheim. Her next solo show with the gallery will be held in October 2012.

J. Parker Valentine currently has work in a group show at AMOA-Arthouse, Austin. This spring, she returns to New York after spending a year in Austin and completing residencies in Tokyo, Berlin, and Milan. She will be included in a symposium on March 15th at the Drawing Center titled The State of Drawing. Recent solo shows include Taka Ishii, Kyoto; Supportico Lopez, Berlin; and Peep-Hole, Milan, which was reviewed in the March issue of Flash Art Italia. Her work will be featured in a forthcoming publication by Mousse magazine.
