Just Kids. Charcoal and acrylic define the stylized silhouettes of the characters, posing in striped shirts and hoods, as if we were observing an old Polaroid. They look at us with malice and innocence: they are simply children.
Nowadays, when everything around us seems to force us to think, Artevistas begins the summer season with an exhibition that will allow us to escape for a moment the problems of our reality ...
Flowing lines and continuity: Paratilla seems to draw his characters without ever lifting the hand from his paintings. His characters are watching us from the canvas as if they were about to have their picture taken.
Simple scenes, in which "characters" have been painted by children, except for one detail: a child does not paint like this. The little creatures of Paratilla are funny monsters. The subtle sarcasm of their winks does not scare us. They laugh and make us smile.
Disproportionate and fantastic characters, caricatured and strange ... Dressed as superheroes, robots or boxers. Masked like young urchins or showing their teeth like little domesticated demons.
