The exhibition focuses on the different narrative layers to communicate individual and social stories. It starts with four works from the series House Beautiful: Bringing the war home (1967-1972) by Martha Rosler, and presents works by Anetta Mona Chisa & Lucia Tkacova, Akram Zaatari.

The exhibition starts with four works from the series House Beautiful: Bringing the war home (1967-1972) by Martha Rosler. In this series, the artist rejoins the two sides of American reality deliberately left separated: the war in Vietnam and the fascinating house interiors. Martha Rosler’s collages represent historical testimonies which have kept full relevance today without any translation.
On the other hand, the conclusion of Manifesto of Futurist Woman, written by Valentine Saint-Point in 1912, and coded into an obsolete signal language (Semaphore) by Anetta Mona Chisa & Lucia Tkacova, relates to the audience through a cryptic tongue. Similarly, How to make a revolution appears as a user’s manual where the word “revolution” has lost its ideological connotation to become an ingredient to reach the success in the art system.
The video Tomorrow Everything Will Be Alright (2010) by Akram Zaatari is an iconic story of love, loss and longing unfolds through an intense ex-change of thoughts between two person. An unsettling use of communication, recording, and writing makes the film fluctuate between a dream, a script, and an exchange of love that everyone longs for.
Martha Rosler (New York, 1943) is an American and activist artist, pioneer of video and political art. Her work is focalized on the everyday life, the domestic lives of woman, media and war using a variety of mediums.
Anetta Mona Chisa (Nadlac, Romania, 1975)& Lucia Tkacova (Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia, in 1977) collaborate since 2000. Their work starts from their personal experiences using different practices to demolish and convert traditional axioms of the society.
Akram Zaatari (Saida, Lebanon in 1966) studied architecture at the AUB in Beirut, and media studies at the New School in New York. He worked at Future Television in Beirut from 1995-97 and he founded of the Arab Image Foundation. He lives and works as an independent filmmaker in Beirut.
