An art fair with a festival flair, showing a mix of contemporary art, photography, design, performances, sound and installations, presented by various galleries and art-initiatives. This second edition presents Raw China Expo, independently curated exhibition with artists from or inspired by China.
RAW Art Fair – A vibrant art fair with a festival flair, showing a mix of contemporary art, photography, design, performances, sound and installations, presented by various galleries and art-initiatives, in a monumental old warehouse on Katendrecht in Rotterdam.
RAW Art Fair aims to catch the current state of the artscene and will be held from 6 till 10 februari 2013 in Pakhuis Santos, Brede Hilledijk 95 in Rotterdam (NL) open daily from 12:00 till 21:00 hr
RAW EXPO – 6 feb.-10 march 2013 A separate exposition, independently curated By Piet de Jonge, former (senior-)curator at Van Abbemuseum, Museum Kröller-Müller and Boijmans van Beuningen. This year’s theme is China and will feature a selection of Chinese artists, known and unknown, young and old, and European artists inspired by China.
RAW Expo will be held in Pakhuis Santos, Brede Hilledijk 95 in Rotterdam (NL) and will be open from 6 february till 10 march 2013.
Field of Dreams organizes RAW Art Fair again this year. As well as last year, the fair will include an extraordinary and spectacular RAW EXPO.
RAW EXPO will be open from Wednesday the 6th of February until Museum night on Saturday the 9th of March 2013. The second edition of RAW ART FAIR and RAW EXPO will be located in the monument warehouse Santos in the district of Katendrecht in Rotterdam. Katendrecht is traditionally the place where the first generation Chinese were established as labor-immigrants and embodies the stable relationship between Rotterdam and China. RAW CHINA EXPO choose to associate the exhibition with a theme this time, namely: China.
Piet de Jonge (former head-conservator of Kröller Müller Museum, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and Van Abbemuseum) will be the curator exhibition. This year he will be supported by Benjamin Li and Beatrijs Dikker. Owner and curator of Canvas International Art, Martijn Kielstra, is appointed as the adviser of the exhibition.
For the exhibition we are searching for Chinese artists who work or exhibit in the Netherlands, or artists who deal with the specific theme/subject of China in their work.
Warehouse Santos is made available by ECC Rotterdam, a joint venture between Volker & Wessels Vastgoed and the Shanghai Construction Group. Raw Art Fair and Raw Expo are protected property from - and are organized by the Field of Dreams foundation.
