Artists for Tichy - Tichy for Artists. A unique collection of international art, where are represented works of renowned artists such as Richard Prince, Rosemarie Trockel, Lowrence Weiner, Neo Rauch, Thomas Ruf and younger artists such as Andy Hope, Fabian Marti or Andro Wekua was created.
Curated by Zdeněk Felix
The Czech photographer Miroslav Tichy (1926 - 2011) comes from Kyjov and he became not only world-famous artist, but also thanks to his attitude - refused to sell his work and take care of his own artistic career - a very popular and admired figure by other artists.
Artists began to visit him and share with him his own work. In the same way, of exchanging art oeuvres, continued a collector and proponent of Miroslav Tichy, Roman Buxbaum.
Thus a unique collection of international art, where are represented works of renowned artists such as Richard Prince, Rosemarie Trockel, Lowrence Weiner, Neo Rauch, Thomas Ruf and younger artists such as Andy Hope, Fabian Marti or Andro Wekua was created.
This unique collection will be for the first time shown in the Gallery of the Central Region. The curator will Zdeněk Felix and the exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive publication that can be also used as a small overview of the contemporary international art.
