Dear Universe. For the exhibition the artist presents collages, large works, created with a technique that is a combination of fluid Ebru (Marbling) and oil, and paintings on tree trunks.
Reysi Kamhi meets the audience at Pg Art Gallery between December 6th and January 9th with her latest personal exhibition “Dear Universe,”.
We are familiar with Kamhi’s work, from her past shows that were about documentation of urban memory. But this time in “Dear Universe,” which is another documentation work, her works keep a journal of an inner journey. As in today’s world, where everything changes rapidly and leaves us feel like we are not able to keep up, the artist makes a choice to stop, turn inside, close her eyes with her hands and isolate herself from the fuss of modern life.
Thinking about the nature and its overwhelmingly perfect system and knowing that human beings are an inseparable part of it drives her to observe it more closely. As a result, Dear Universe, departing from her experiences in Subatan Highlands last summer, narrates this experience in the midst of the nature and reveals the maps her own personal universe.
In this show, we see collages, large works, created with a technique that is a combination of fluid Ebru (Marbling) and oil, and paintings on tree trunks that successfully present the concepts like nothingness, flux and relinquishment, in a dreamlike environment through shadowy characters.
