For the Gandy Gallery, Gontarski conceived an original project consisting of works on paper and sculptures reinterpreting certain masonic objects and symbols in a contemporary style.
Born in Philadelphia in 1972, STEVEN GONTARSKI lives and works in
London since 1996.
In London, he studied at the famous goldmiths collége of art, but
maintains that he was "more influenced by music, fashion or design .."
His sculptures rest on pedestals, they are fluid busts, often veiled,
reflecting light ; they seem to occupy space musically. Neither
classic, nor punk, nor soft nor hard, this is the work of an artist
who masters his style and confronts it to the heterogeneous universe
we live in.
For the Gandy Gallery, Gontarski conceived an original project
consisting of works on paper and sculptures reinterpreting certain
masonic objects and symbols in a contemporary style.
