Echo. Large sized paper works
The prominent young artist Duygu Suzen's third solo-exhibition titled 'ECHO' which brings together large sized paper works she has created with ink and water color opens at MERKUR on May 4th, 2015. The exihibition which aims to transmit the echo of nature to the audience through the contrast between black and white can be visited until June 6th, 2015. The artist concerning the works included in the exhibition: Together with personal experiences, the inclination to re-structure the existing forms of nature provides us with the possibility to step into a world we already know as 'other'. The audience can take part in this world or adopt a role to discover and reflect themselves. Mind is able to wander freely in the sea of the selected imagery or constructed images. Earth is immense, leaves reach towards emptiness, clouds solve the dark secrets of the fog. On the other hand, nature is dazzling, sacred, but also vengeful. Sometimes forms are disrupted, sometimes they are repeated. Like the echo of a sound that hits a surface and bounces back, some of the selected scenes behave like the echo of nature. These images gathered from autobiographical places ground on the integrity and unity of yin yang thorugh the co-operation between the brush an dink which are likened to mountains and water. The contrast between black and white aim to focus the attention of the audience to the work by prompting powerful emotions.
