It's unsettling - but what is it exactly?', is a simple question often provoked by the work of Michael E. Smith. Smith (US, 1977) makes suggestive objects and videos that define the ambience in a space.The viewer envisions himself in a deserted city, a dystopian landscape, with a few uncommen remnants of human presence. Smith creates an mysterious tension between the object and its surroundings, as gives new life to dead things and materials. Opening: Friday July 10 from 6 - 9 pm.
