(committed) (real) (external)
NATASCHA SADR HAGHGHIAN (Berlin) entitles her work with a play on
words, based on a Henry Kissinger quotation. The exhibition is a new
project by NATASCHA SADR HAGHGHIAN, in which the artist has literally
converted the main exhibition space of Kunstverein München into a
car-less street. Taking the phenomenon of the Car Free Sunday during
the 70s oil crisis as an example, the artist addresses the peculiar
relationship between the global economical-political situation and
everyday life.

WAS IST ÖFFENTLICHKEIT?
DISPOSITIVE WORKSHOP, Part 3
WAS IST ÖFFENTLICHKEIT? (What is a Public Sphere?) is a new video
installation at Kunstverein München by Katya Sander (Copenhagen /
Berlin). The work takes as its starting point the Olympic Village and
especially the small bungalows that today house students. In 1972
when the Olympic Village was designed for the Olympic Games in
Munich, live television broadcast became possible, and consequently,
the games were one of the first larger events being broadcasted live
and globally.
The video is produced in collaboration with current inhabitants of
the Olympic Village, amongst others. WAS IST ÖFFENTLICHKEIT? is the
third part of the project series DISPOSITIVE WORKSHOP, where artists
are invited to realise projects in collaboration with a group of
people from Munich.
Opening: Thursday 15 July 2004, 7 pm
