Epiphany. Video Installation and Navigational Text. The project of american artist Bill Seaman deals with the local place, architectural elements and social relations and incorporates poetry texts with music, visual art and media in collaboration with the local people. Inspired by cultural, historical and architectural context of Trnava town, its psychological influence and some details of human body, the artist juxtaposed these elements to the video-work with impressive music and whispered texts in both languages.
Epiphany
Video Installation and Navigational Text
Project "Epiphany" was first shown in the Synagogue - Centre for Contemporary Art in Trnava (Jan Koniarek Gallery) during February 2004, and now is being presented in At Home Gallery in Samorin, also in former synagogue.
Another part of the project is based on exhibiting these poetic texts in Slovak and English version in public spaces of Trnava and Samorin using the classical frame and material of the street signs.
Bill Seaman is a head of Digital Media Department (Graduate division) at Rhode Island School of Design , where the Artslink residency of Viera Jancekova took place in the year 2002.
