10th INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR
The dates for Kunst Zürich have been shifted to the winter trimester, which includes a number of further art fairs. But this step makes sense all the same. The fair’s quality has improved still further, especially over the past three years it has gained an independent profile through the inclusion of a guest city and has therefore become more competitive.
For the first time, the opening hours have been extended to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. We are thus responding to the life style of our target public, which likes to attend events of this kind also in the late evening. This year, we are placing special emphasis on gastronomy in order to enable your customers to combine the visit to the fair with a dinner. For this reason, the bar and the restaurant will keep open until midnight.
In the environment of well-known galleries reflecting a multi-national range of visual art, the most recent trends will be increasingly included in the fair’s programme. For this reason, the promotion stands of â€One-Person Show†and â€Young Gallery†will be continued. It is the fair management’s explicit aim for the next two years to make the exhibitors’ profile even more international, especially in the young sector.
Through the introduction of a guest city two years ago, Kunst Zürich has provided a special attraction, which has gained wide recognition by the expert public. The overall programme is thus stimulated by new, unexpected impulses. For the first time, the special exhibition under curatorship and the programmes of the galleries from the guest city will be displayed together in a separate hall. The decision about this year’s guest city is now in the selection phase and will be announced around the end of May.
With quality, internationality and topicality, Kunst Zürich offers all those elements that support the professional art business and the lasting promotion of most recent art.
This programme appeals both to our primary target public, the receptive collectors from Switzerland and abroad, and to the urban and culturally interested visitors from Switzerland, particularly the metropolitan area of Zurich.
The annual number of over 20`000 visitors from Switzerland and abroad confirm the philosophy of this fair and transform the halls at Zürich-Oerlikon into a lively art centre for four days.
