These are fragments of messages sent by the eight artists during the planning stages of this show. Together they describe the kind of activity that will be on display in the gallery. (One of the messages is from the Good Doctor as regards his foreword.)
...I was hoping to make a really big piñata of a satellite filled with candy and cell phones...hanging it will take some expertise...
...Here is the image of the little boy with enlightened hands. I want to print it life-size and maybe install the print from the floor up so it looks like he's there...meaning physically...
...It's going to be a giant, black, dinosaur / velociraptor hanging from the ceiling. It will be cosmetically burnt...
...It'll be related to the "chariot" piece in that it will have a head similar to a mongoose and probably have some of the same powdery stuff on it. It's not going to be very big and will probably be greyish...
...a river that ran through an installation in my studio with a boat for people to ride in, no one drowned or got too wet. The whole thing would be like a miniature version of the Matterhorn. The outside would be a mountain and the inside would be a water ride/grotto...
...Write a foreword? With pleasure. I'll set my deadlines aside, how many words? Pictures!!! Pictures of the things I am writing about...I need something "visual" or shall I depend on your Iliad-like descriptions? When do you need it? I expect that Casey will fly me over for the opening...
...WHAT???? Posters. the kind you see wheat pasted up four at a time, advertising movies, records, Wu concerts, video games, camcorders, etc, etc... in any case it's swell understood--young, American, and dangerous: so full of it (life)...I'll bring an authentic lime squeezer(in my luggage of course)...
...The inflatable buildings...each had a 6 ft diameter weather balloon full of helium attached to them, which was a kind of reverse anchor that kept them floating and migrating along the horizon all the time...
...It's supposed to be a teddy bear stuck flat to the wall...and it's eight feet tall...
Please join us on March 19th, 6-8p.m. to celebrate the opening of FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS.
