With "The Wedding Party", David Byrne once again returns to a concept which is fundamental to his artistic career: the search for a way to connect objects and things that have nothing to do with each other, raising them to a higer level and opening up, thereby, a new view of the world.

LipanjePuntin Artecontemporanea, exclusive in Italy, has pleasure in presenting The Wedding Party: large scale photographs by David Byrne and dressed objects sculptures by Adelle Lutz & David Byrne.
With "The Wedding Party", David Byrne once again returns to a concept which is fundamental to his artistic career: the search for a way to connect objects and things that have nothing to do with each other, raising them to a higer level and opening up, thereby, a new view of the world.
Linking them in a consciously surrealistic game based on the use of mannequins and recovered objects, in The Wedding Party David Byrne & Adelle Lutz bizzarely dresses up objects in daily use (a table in trousers, cutlery in overcoats, an old radio in a bikini....) and stages them as an imaginary wedding group (bride and groom, mother, father, mother-in-law, uncle....etc.).
There derive from these mysterious and disquieting personifications sculptures that come to life the moment they are staged simultaneously with the brightly-coloured photographs taken of them, inviting the beholder to enter their magical, irrational world.
