Joan Massanet (1899 - 1969) is one of the most significant artists of Catalan surrealism, together with Ãngel Planells, Esteban Francés and Remedios Varó. As in DalÃ, with whom he maintained a cordial relationship, the landscape of the Ampurdá region forms an essential part of his work. His passion for archaeology and his link to the ruins of Ampurias are projected into his painting from a special viewpoint. The exhibition covers a wide selection of the more outstanding pieces of his production.
