Abraham Walkowitz and Reuben Nakian. Both artists worked among New York's avant garde in the first half of the twentieth century: Walkowitz was a member of the circle of artists around Alfred Stieglitz and his gallery in the 1910s and '20s, while Nakian was considered one of the leading sculptors among the abstract expressionists in the 1940s and '50s.
