Continuous Arrival
Continuous Arrival - or to put it another way: Always crashing in the same car. The permanent arrival to where you never wanted to go. For a long time Christian Korth broaches this intricate issue by the use of two totally different sculptural approaches: figurative small-sized sculptures of bronze on the one hand and object works on the other. In an empathic and drastic way appear states of drunkenness, obsessive behaviour or self-oblivion both in figure and object.
Christian Korth refers to his objects as "contemporary time witness accumulations". He combines objects of daily use that he melts together under a transparent shrink foil wrapping. These heterogeneous shapes compose fragile incidents about fragments of our (anti-) social reality.
The foil saves the observer from the exceeding authentic moments of the contained reality. The accumulations give an insight into environments, where excess, tragedy or even the agony of it could have taken place.
The brazen figures tell their own stories, but could also be the minimized protagonists of such a setting.
Two contrastive perspectives and visual means, the corporality of the brazen figures as well as the relative objectivity and apparent sterility of the objects lead the recipient inconspicuously into an abyss of contemporary social issues.
