For the cold months of January and February ŻAK Gallery will transform its white walls from typical exhibition spaces into temporary living rooms.
Gallery for Wintertime is not only a chance to exhibit the photography and video art of several artists participating in our on-going Portfolio Review. We also extend the exhibition as an invitation to our visitors to escape the weather and sink into an easy-chair, drink a cup of tea and explore the catalogues and articles related to the artists exhibited in the gallery.
In warm light, and with low book-laden tables surrounding, Gallery for Wintertime will include 11 artists coming from Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The exhibition will be self-activating and dynamic, setting the works of different artists on the same wall, and within an unlimited context of concepts and visual strategy. The gallery atmosphere will be compatible with a focused look at individual artists in catalogues and publications, allowing the visitor to relax and experience the gallery as a space fostering research and extended reflection.
Gallery for Wintertime offers the on-going invitation to remain, to explore the new works of young artists in an intimate setting, and to experience the variables of artistic production - website, books, articles, original works - simultaneously within one winter-sheltered space.
Portfolio Review
Most of the exhibited artists are a part of ŻAK Gallery’s Portfolio Review, which takes its initial shape in the frame of this winter exhibition. (...)
