Southern California Women Artists, 1980-2006. An exhibition of art created after the rise of the feminist art revolution in the greater Los Angeles area. It comprises work by 50 Southern California women artists including performance, traditional and new media practices. Works bt Kim Abeles, Amy Adler, Lita Albuquerque, Eleanor Antin, Judith F. Curator: Dextra Frankel, renowned gallery director, curator and Professor Emeritus at California State University, Fullerton.

An exhibition of art created after the rise of the feminist art revolution in the greater Los Angeles area. It comprises work by 50 Southern California women artists including performance, traditional and new media practices.

Multiple Vantage Points complements the upcoming WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution, 1965-1980 at MOCA to offer a unique opportunity for Los Angeles audiences to explore connections between the dynamic women artists working in Southern California today and the early global history of feminist art. Both exhibitions are part of The Feminist Art Project, a national initiative recognizing the aesthetic and intellectual impact of women in the visual arts and culture...

Fifty women artists and a 26-year timeline covering the decades after the rise of the feminist art movement span generations and cultures to offer multiple perspectives on gender, race, the body, history politics, religion and nature.

Curated by Dextra Frankel, Multiple Vantage Points complements MOCA's WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution, 1965-1980 and offers Los Angeles audiences an opportunity to explore connections between the dynamic women artists working in Southern California today and the early global history of feminist art. Both exhibitions are part of The Feminist Art Project, a national initiative recognizing the aesthetic and intellectual impact of women in the visual arts and culture.

This exhibition is presented by the collaborative partnership of the Southern California Womens Caucus for Art, Southern California Council of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.

A fully illustrated catalogue is available with an introductory essay by Suvan Geer.

Saturday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m.
Panel Discussion: Sunday, March 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. Revealed: Women, Art, Life, Success with moderators Betty Ann Brown and Linda Vallejo.

Organized by the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art, co- sponsored by the Southern California Council of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and hosted by the Department of Cultural Affairs/ Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.
