Open Space

Cologne Trade Fair Centre, Koln

Art Cologne. By producing an intrinsic relationship between the selected art projects and the spatial structure, the fair is exploring future contemporary appearences of an art fair: a neighbourly arrangement, a kind of community for a while, respectively inventing its deviant character from all participants and visitors.

Art Cologne

Within the central area of leading contemporary galleries, Open Space displays its unique context of presentation and discourse, of business and pleasure. By producing an intrinsic relationship between the selected art projects and the spatial structure, Open Space is exploring future contemporary appearences of an art fair: a neighbourly arrangement, a kind of community for a while, respectively inventing its deviant character from all participants and visitors. The project thus consequently specifies its own rules of the game to develop a different, urban quality of presence, of presentation and perception, facing the demands of an informed and international public by reflecting the contemporary contexts of artistic production and professional mediation.
