Solo show
Four is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Tim Lloyd. Llyod is
concerned with generating a sense of event, with performance-based
investigations at the forefront of his practice. He choreographs
playful and inventive actions and activities for purpose of
documenting them to video.
For this exhibition, Lloyd has combined factual and non factual
elements using Blue-screen editing techniques to create uncanny video
installations that imply impossible spatial situations. His work
humorously provokes a re-evaluation of time and location and questions
our understanding of how we perceive the world around us.
Born in London in 1968, Lloyd lives and works in Dublin. In 2006 he
was the fifth participant in the Investigations series at the Lewis
Glucksman Gallery, Cork. His group shows include Press Play, 2005, at
the Green on Red Gallery, Dublin, Transit, 2004, which was part of the
Dublin Fringe Festival Visual Arts Programme and One Place Twice,
2003, at the Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast. Lloyd was an Artist in
Residence at the National Training and Development Institute,
Ballyfermot from 2003-2004. He studied at Dun Laoghaire Institute of
Art, Design and Technology followed by an MA in Fine Art at the
National College of Art and Design, Dublin. He is a part-time
Lecturer at IADT and board member of Visual Artists Ireland.
