60 Exhibitors + Aaperto
In order to avoid any kind of routine in the 4th. version of the BERLIN KUNSTSALON we have thought up a few new things. Firstly, I would like to mention our new space: the BERLIN KUNSTSALON takes place this year for the first time in ca. 12,000 sq.m. in the building complex constructed by Jean Krämer in 1926 in Badstr. 41a / Uferstr. As a result, new possibilities and freedoms in terms of presentation have been opened up on the one hand, on the other we wanted to experience the challenge of the work with a new space as well as our own wills: it has to be exciting for us, too.

Aaperto

Aaperto - created by Miriam Bers and Stefano Gualdi, GoArt! - is a new series of events. Selected studio visits will take place for the first time in the course of this year's Kunstherbst, starting during Berlins' Art Fairs.
Because of GoArt!'s work concerning art mediation with guided tours and curated events (www.goart-berlin.de), studio-tours also present a key feature of our portfolio.
Focussing on artists' studio visits, Aaperto concentrates on promising talents and demonstrates the dynamic range of creative works in Berlin. The city is known as a melting pot of contemporary art and produces a continuously growing amount of local and international artists.
Already an insider tip for young Berlin based artists is a former industrial site at Weißensee Pankow, built in the 1930s and used by the Stasi during the GDR regime. From the spectrum of artists today working in their studios at this very place, GoArt! presents a selection of fascinating and promising contemporary art-positions: Kaj Aune (Norway) - Daniela Ehemann - Matthias Moravek - Judith Schwinn and Kerstin Wagener from artists' network Plan W, Etienne Allaix (France), Tim Ernst, Wolfgang Ganter, Susanne Knaack, Manfred Michl, Isolde Krams (South Africa), Alexej Meschtschanow (Ukraine), Ricard (Sweden), Rebecca Thomas, Erling Viktor (Denmark).
In cooperation with eleven of the artists Aaperto - temporary spaces has been developed at the 4th Berliner Kunstsalon. There, in a 300 m2 huge hall, the artists will produce a star-shaped room-sculpture - which will not only present the individual artists' positions and the studio based networks and branches they developed - it is also a self-contained piece of art and creates new, exciting constellations.
