Synchronicity as a cultural practice
The Multitasking exhibition presents contemporary artistic positions which focus on the cultural practice of simultaneous activity and reception. Attention will focus on the issue of the social, technological and emotional consequences of increased speed and density of information.
The synchronicity of today's media-backed daily life means that multitasking penetrates into almost spheres of life and has a particular influence on our perception, communication and interaction. The exhibition presents the multitasking phenomenon as a metaphor to describe the profound changes currently taking place in the economy, the media and society.
An exhibition by the Arbeitsgruppe Fotografie of the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (NGBK), Berlin in cooperation with the department of European Media Studies at the University of Potsdam / University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.

Participants drawn from a range of academic disciplines (medicine, neurology, psychology, computing, media studies, history of art, etc.) will take part in an interdisciplinary discussion of the multitasking phenomenon.
