The artist's work explores aspects of isolation and phiscical and mental disfigureation. Hintikka paintings are all about his life, his experiences and the things this life has put him through.
Kari Juhani Hintikka presents a new body of work for his first London solo show. Hintikka’s work explores aspects of isolation and phiscical and mental disfigureation. Hintikka paintings are all about his life, his experiences and the things this life has put him through. Hintikka regards his work as a journey trying to find the real power of expression. Like a lot of artists Hintikka’s creative process results in destroying a large part of his work in search of the true meaning. Through this process of destruction Hintikka has found a new way of working and painting.
“These paintings are the result of this journey. My journey, my life, my disfigurations.”
Hintikka’s work has been extensively shown in solo and group exhibitions in Finland. The disfiguration exhibition will be a solo show with 17 paintings and will at the Brick Lane Gallery from the 1st - 18th of February.
