Omma Center of Contemporary Art is organizing a series of international group exhibitions, with artists from all over the world - East and West.In addition to displaying the most recent trends in art from all over the world, this series of exhibitions, aims to bring closer together the artists themselves, in a stimulating exchange of ideas, and to surmount differences among the countries in which they leave and work. The first of this series of exhibitions starts on Wednesday December 5 2001 at 8:30 p.m.
Omma Center of Contemporary Art, which is located in Chania, Crete, Greece, in an attempt to contribute to greater international and intercultural understanding and friendship - in the difficult times in which we leave- and to the exchange of artistic prospective and trend, is organizing a series of international group exhibitions, with artists from all over the world - East and West.
In addition to displaying the most recent trends in art from all over the world, this series of exhibitions, aims to bring closer together the artists themselves, in a stimulating exchange of ideas, and to surmount differences among the countries in which they leave and work.
It is our belief, that art can be a powerful agent in promoting understanding among peoples.
Let us not forget that terrorism breeds on hatred and the refusal to perceive people of other cultures as human beings. It is precisely this perception of other people as human beings like us, whose lives have worth and interest, that art promotes.
The first of this series of exhibitions starts on Wednesday December 5 2001 at 8:30 p.m. and it will last until January 5 2002
