Scotland's National Art Fair returns for 13th Year. Over 50 galleries and arts organisations from across the world has been selected to participate to the fair. Continuing the commitment to the development of new art patrons, this year's Fair will feature a full programme of lively and informative talks and discussions.
After a record-breaking year which saw 16,500 visitors and sales worth over £1.2m, Glasgow Art Fair – Scotland’s National Art Fair returns for its 13th year in 2008, from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 March.
This key date in the cultural calendar is the place to buy, sell and view art attracting a wide range of arts collectors, casual buyers and arts enthusiasts. Over 50 galleries and arts organisations from across the world will be selected over the next couple of months to exhibit at next year’s event.
Glasgow Art Fair has grown since its inception in 1996 to become the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the UK outwith London. Last year saw over 1000 different artists represented with previous artists including Damien Hurst, Turner Prize winner Simon Starling, David Mach, Catriona Millar, Peter Howson, John Byrne and Ann Redpath.
Housed in George Square in the centre of Glasgow – a city with an outstanding history of excellence in visual arts and creativity, there really is no better way to get a taste of the current contemporary art scene. With items to suit all tastes and budgets from emerging talents and established names, there really is something for everyone.
