Alex Charpentier’s videos tell no particular story, but the subject matter shares an electric color sensibility and feelings of anxiety and apprehension. Charpentier refers to his videos as 'moving pictures'. Shin-il Kim employs the characteristics of video to manipulate time and space in his search for the answers to phenomenological questions. Kim metaphorically expresses his unsatisfied desires through the use of simple performed actions, minimal forms and fragmented movement.
The exhibition Videos is curated by Rachel Gugelberger, Associate
Director of Student Galleries.

Charpentier captures the awkward behavior that may accompany

is a student in the BFA Film and Video Program.
