Iole Di Natale e Angela Sepe Novara

Doppia personale. Una serie di incisioni che combinano le tecniche dell'acquaforte, l'acquatinta e il lavis si confrontano con alcune tele caratterizzate da un uso forte e libero del colore.

La Galleria Lakeside di Pallanza è lieta di presentare per la prima volta a Verbania due artiste affermate: Angela Sepe Novara nata a Rivoli, provincia di Torino, e Iole Di Natale, originaria di Varese ma residente in Brasile da molti anni. In apparenza molto diverse, le opere delle due artiste in esposizione condividono una rara intensità espressiva.
Acquarellista di grande spessore, Iole Di Natale mostra un altro lato della sua produzione artistica con una serie di incisioni che combinano le tecniche dell’acquaforte, l’acquatinta, la vernice molle e il lavis. Entitolato “Amore e Natura”, le otto tavole trattano temi d’amore sensuale e il rapporto uomo-natura.
I lavori di Angela Sepe Novara presentate alla Lakeside contrastrono il rigore monocromatico della Di Natale con un uso forte e libero del colore. Partendo da una base figurativa solidissima, Sepe Novara ha svilupato una linea di ricerca introspettiva che fruisce in composizioni astratte e gestuali con una tecnica mista fondato sull’acquarello ma incorporando elementi di collage.

Lakeside Gallery in Pallanza is proud to present for the first time in Verbania two well established artists: Iole Di Natale, born in Varese but resident in Sao Paolo, Brazil for many years, and Angela Sepe Novara from Rivoli in the province of Turin.

A watercolour painter of great talent, Di Natale here reveals another aspect of her artistic output with a series of etchings that combine the techniques of acquaforte, acquatint, soft ground etching and lavis. The eight prints, collectively entitled “Amore y Natura” deal with themes of sensual love and man’s relationship with nature.
The paintings that Angela Sepe Novara is showing at Lakeside contrast with Di Natale’s monochromatic rigour through a bold, free use of colour. Starting out from solid figurative foundations, Sepe Novara has developed a strand of intrspective research that has born fruti in abstract, gestural compositions featuring a highly original mixed media technique based on watercolour but incorportating elements of collage.
The exhibition may be seen at the Lakeside Gallery, Via Tachni 26, Verbania Pallanza from Saturday the 24th of May through to Friday the 20th of June, with the following opening hours: 10.30-12.30 and 16.00-19.30 (closed Sunday and Monday, for private and out of hours visits please call 0039 3476008131). An aperitivo with the artists will be offered in the gallery on Saturday the 7th of June.
