A Narrative Photographs by Alex Emmons.
In swimming series, artist Alex Emmons creates
a cinematic environment with an installation of
fifty small illuminated lightboxes. Dark
backgrounds create a nebulous abyss in which
several figures appear and reappear, interacting
indirectly, in gestures that pull us into moments
of joy, uncertainty, hope, and trust. The artist
asks us to consider how we know what we know,
and to consider a possible world in which all we
have is our bodies and the other people around
us.
Reception with the artist on First Thursday, May
4, 6 to 9 pm.
Gallery Hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12pm
to 5pm, or by appointment.
