Instant City
Instant City. The architectural model is both Estermann's source of research and form of expression. It represents the history of time and place, simultaneously depicting what is real, in the form of actual buildings that have been built over time, as well as dreams of the ideal, in the realization of Utopian designs that were never built. His research comes from many architectural books and papers, as well as his encounters with interesting structures during his travels, often through Eastern Europe. The constant shift between two and three-dimensional points of view characterizes his work as he creates his own Utopian, artistic "models".
