Culture Industry, Folklore and Cliches

The project Culture Industry, Folklore and Clichés at VOX invites 30 international artists from Greece and Eastern Europe to explore the way in which the concepts of Folklore and Clichés interact and suggest, apart from common experiences and thoughts of a specific geographic area, new meanings and ideas.

The works are placed throughout the premises of VOX building, one of the most popular ‘bouzoukia’ venues of the city. The building, landmark of the Athenian night life, without changing character, temporarily becomes a container that interacts with its content, with the art works that imply new narrations that come out of the negotiation with familiar circumstances.
