Lines and pours. The artist focused on the architecture of the gallery producing a site-specific project. The structure of her installation reflects a variety of materials and forms present in the space, following its step and peeculiarities and allowing the sculpture to fall and fold on itself, assuming another form and dimension.
For her first solo exhibition in Germany Carla Scott Fullerton focused
the project on the architecture of Chert gallery producing a site-
specific project.
The structure of her installation reflects a variety of materials and
forms present in the space, following the gallery’s step and
peculiarities and allowing the sculpture to “fall” and “fold” on
itself, assuming another form and dimension.
The final construction is a mix of different pieces collaged together,
where the sensibility of the chosen materials makes the process of
creation of the piece. Its result is a constant meditation between
materials and space, always changing and transforming till reaching
its final combination.
Carla Scott Fullerton is deeply engaged with sculpture, investigating
materials process involved in construction and deconstruction, those
being old and new.
She questions how forms and formless structures sit together,
juxtaposing material forms through processes and playing with shapes
that relate to architecture.
