The Kravets/Wehby Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new paintings by Aaron Romine opening on Thursday, Sepeptmber 10 and running through October 17, 2009.
In this current body of work Aaron Romine has chosen to streamline and simplify his surroundings. He has taken both his production and his muses outdoors into the eternal optimism of the midday sun. In the midst of the current global economic doom and gloom Romine portrays what was and could be again through his somewhat utopian surroundings. Each painting radiates from within. One painting sharply crops a brilliant sunset with two women reveling in the fading light. In another, Val reaches for the top of a fig tree enveloped in an intoxicating mixture of amber sunlight, electric blue sky and glowing green leaves.
Aaron Romine was recently included in "Attention to Detail" curated by Chuck Close at The FLAG Art Foundation in New York. He currently lives and works in La Faute Sur Mer, France.
Opens Thursday, September 10 with a reception from 6 to 8pm
