Galerie Max Hetzler is pleased to present Access All Areas, a drawing exhibition. It brings together 30 emerging and
established artists working or showing in Berlin today. The exhibition is organised by Arturo Herrera and Tanja Wagner.
Personal Statement:
Drawing has been described as an act of making marks on a surface
to create an image. This exhibition explores how contemporary art
probes and challenges that definition in a range of formal and
conceptual propositions.
Access All Areas, a drawing exhibition focuses on today’s open-ended
drawing practices in two and three dimensional forms. No longer
limited by any definition, artists keep expanding the range of this
essential and vital language.
The works, most of which are commissioned specifically for the
exhibition, range from intimate pencil notations to conceptual systems,
formal investigations bordering on painting, drawing as performance,
photographic collage, wall drawings, to popular culture appropriations.
