Exotic worlds. The artist proposes a look between the visible and the invisible, between the perception and the imagination, the invention of ambitious presentations that is hiding matters related to the different ways to define and understand the world.
Italian artist, Mario Prencipe, will show oil paintings on canvas, mixed media paintings and sketches from cultures and different environments in his Bangkok debut exhibition “ Exotic Worlds”, at the Neilson Hays’ Rotunda Gallery from 31st of October until the 29th of November 2009.
In Exotic Worlds, the artist proposes a look between the visible and the invisible, between the perception and the imagination, the invention of ambitious presentations that is hiding matters related to the different ways to define and understand the world. The recurrent themes are often distorted anthropomorphous figures, sometimes imperceptible in the compositions, sometimes hidden in the elements to imply the enigmatic aspects of extraneous environments.
Mario Prencipe was born in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan in Italy. He graduated in 1983 from the Liceo Artistico of Milano. His works have been widely exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in recent years and have a place in both private and public collections as in the Museum of City in Argentina, the National Gallery in San Jose, Costa Rica and in the National Museum Managua in Nicaragua
