Malevolent Melody. On show a young French illustrator: quirky style, attention to detail and fusion of sepia-tinged classical, and bold, illustrative contemporary styles.
Concrete Hermit gallery is proud to bring you the first London solo exhibition of talented young French illustrator Mcbess- Opening this Thursday- November 5th and running until the 30th November. We think this is the best possible way to spend your Guy Fawke’s night!
AKA Mathieu Bessudo, Mcbess has quickly been making waves across Europe and the U.S with his quirky style, attention to detail and fusion of sepia-tinged classical, and bold, illustrative contemporary styles.
In his drawings and posters, we love his super-embellished characters, which live in lonely and desolate suburban nightmares, and we love their enthusiasm and excitement for music and instruments, and the escapism they provide. Mcbess shares this passion and excitement with them- and you can see this in his incredible animated music video for his band, Dirty Melody, whose 7-inch record we will be launching on the opening night.
McBess has recently exhibited at the ‘Stroke’ Urban Art Fair, Munich, Gorker Gallery, Melbourne, as well as commercial work for Beck’s beer.
