Screening of Debra Granik's film
The Museum of Modern Art premieres a special preview screening of Debra Granik's Winter's Bone (2010), winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Drama and the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The screening is introduced by writer-director Debra Granik. Based on the 2006 novel by Daniel Woodrell, Winter's Bone is the story of Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence), a determined young woman and caregiver for her mother and two younger siblings, who must locate her vanished father in order to save the family home, which he put up as bond after his arrest for drug-dealing. The screening is organized by Laurence Kardish, Senior Curator, Department of Film, The Museum of Modern Art.
