Salon show. A selection of recent works
Salon show. Michael Jones McKean will present a selection of recent work. Mckean is a Virginia-based artist whose work explores narration, complexity, representation, misunderstanding, materiality, land, and failure. While in New York, McKean is working on new sculptures and flat works, preparing for Certain Principles of Light and Shapes Between Forms - a public art rainbow project slated for the spring of 2011, and developing a few writings including a text on meaning, sculpture, and omniscience. Nadja Verena Marcin will present her practice through a live performance entitled 'One night stand' which references a single night performance, usually by a guest artist on tour. Marcin invites the viewer on a vertical journey that tells the story of an out-of-body experience. Her work centers on human behavior, elemental emotions, and psychological responses linked to role-playing through video, performance and photography. From 6.30pm, admission free.
