UNIDEE in Residence è un programma internazionale di residenza aperto ad artisti, professionisti, studenti e laureati da ogni paese del mondo

UNIDEE propone una piattaforma per discutere la diversità, lavorando con un gruppo eterogeneo e multidisciplinare nella ricerca e nello sviluppo di progetti di trasformazione sociale responsabile.

UNIDEE offre la possibilità di inserirsi in un network diverso, finalizzato allo scambio e ad una collaborazione progettuale con Cittadellarte che prosegue dopo il residence.

I programmi UNIDEE sono diretti da Michelangelo Pistoletto. Il residence si svolge in quattro mesi di permanenza, dal 1 luglio al 31 ottobre. La lingua ufficiale è l'inglese. L'attività dei residenti UNIDEE si svolge in costante interazione con gli uffizi di Cittadellarte che attuano il programma di trasformazione sociale responsabile attraverso progetti sviluppati in collaborazione con istituzioni pubbliche e private, aziende, enti culturali e strutture economiche e produttive

I residenti lavorano individividualmente o in gruppo all’elaborazione di idee e progetti operando sulle linee di una creatività implicata nei seguenti campi: Arte, Comunicazione, Ecologia, Economia, Educazione, Lavoro, Nutrimento, Politica, Produzione, Scienza, Spiritualità.

Nel corso del residence si svolgono incontri e seminari tenuti da esperti e docenti delle diverse discipline umanistiche, scientifiche, economiche, politiche, artistiche e sociali. Tutti gli eventi in programma a Cittadellarte - mostre, convegni, performance e workshop - rappresentano ulteriori momenti formativi e di approfondimento per i residenti. Le idee e i progetti elaborati vengono presentati pubblicamente al termine del residence in occasione della mostra-evento UNIDEE in progress.

Modalità di partecipazione

Ogni anno è prevista l'assegnazione di venti residenze. La Giuria di Cittadellarte seleziona i candidati valutandone l'attitudine progettuale in relazione alle finalità dell'Università delle Idee. I candidati sono invitati ad inviare tutto il materiale che ritengono pertinente a tale valutazione: curriculum, documentazione sulla propria attività, uno o più esempi progettuali dimostrativi del proprio approccio al tema della trasformazione sociale responsabile

Il plico deve inoltre contenere il modulo di partecipazione compilato e firmato. Per ogni residente viene calcolato un costo complessivo di Euro 10.000 dei quali 1600,00 devono essere versati da ogni partecipante. Sono disponibili Borse di Studio. Gli interessati sono invitati a consultare il sito o a contattare la segreteria organizzativa per avere maggiori informazioni.

La quota comprende:
- i seminari per il periodo del residence
- la frequenza ai workshop
- i supporti tecnici e didattici, visite e sopraluoghi
- la partecipazione alle attività di Cittadellarte
- vitto e alloggio nella sede della Fondazione

UNIDEE in Residence - International Program 2005

UNIDEE in Residence is an international residence program open to artists, professionals, students and graduates of various university faculties from any country in the world.

UNIDEE offers an experience unlike anything offered in any other university or academic program: a research-oriented practice that operates within each discipline and is directed towards the responsible transformation of society.

UNIDEE invites the participants to become part of a diverse network, the aim of which is to enable them to set up new projects and continue the collaboration with Cittadellarte after the residence

The UNIDEE programs are directed by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The residency lasts four months, from 1 July to 31 October.The official language is English. The work of the UNIDEE residents involves constant interaction with the offices of Cittadellarte, which put the program of responsible social transformation into effect through projects developed in conjunction with public and private institutions, companies, cultural bodies and economic and production structures.

The residents work individually or in groups to develop ideas and projects, working along creative lines pertinent to the following fields: Art, Communication, Ecology, Economics, Education, Work, Nutrition, Politics, Production, Science, Spirituality. During the residency, meetings and seminars are held by experts and professors of various humanistic, scientific, economic, political, artistic and social disciplines. All the events in the Cittadellarte program – exhibitions, conferences, performances and workshops – offer further opportunities for the residents to explore issues and develop ideas. At the end of the residency, the ideas that have been generated are presented publicly at the UNIDEE in progress exhibition-event.

How to apply
Twenty residencies are available each year.The Cittadellarte selection panel chooses candidates on the basis of their aptitude for developing projects relating to the aims of the University of Ideas. Applicants are invited to send any material they consider pertinent to such an assessment: curriculum, documentation of previous work, one or more examples of projects that illustrate their approach to the theme of responsible social transformation. A filled-in and signed application form must also be included with the material.
The overall estimated cost for each resident is 10,000 euros, 1,600 of which must be paid by the individual participant. Scholarship grants are available. Anyone interested is invited to consult the website or to contact the organizing secretary for further information.
The sum includes:
- seminars during the residency
- attendance of the workshops
- technical and teaching assistance, visits and inspections
- participation in Cittadellarte activities
- board and lodging on the premises

Applications must be submitted by 20 April 2005 (postal stamp) however we will take in account applications arrived by 2 May 2005, date of the Selection.
