After two successful years, The Los Angeles Italian Film Awards (LAIFA) once
again gears up for its third annual festival which will be held on April 24 -
28, 2001.
The festival provides a unique venue in the heart of Hollywood for
film-goers to meet new people in the movie industry - both Italian and
American - as well as view some of the new features, documentaries and short
films. Additionally, this year, according to Executive Director, Luigi
Campanile, the festival promises to intrigue its attendees with an unusually
entertaining experience.
2001, LAIFA's preceding activities will be headquartered at the historic
Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Piazza Italia located at the Egyptian theatre
courtyard will be the center of Filmmakers, film-going audience, and sponsors.
(Espresso Bar, Media Center, Merchandise, Update Festival Information). The
awards ceremony location, however, will be announced at a later time.
Backed by an honorary board including such well-known celebrities as
Melanie Griffith, Dennis Hopper, Kirstie Alley, Paul Mazurski, Richard J.
Riordan (Mayor of the City of Los Angeles) to name a few, LAIFA brings to Los
Angeles yet another year of riveting performances.
Campanile's dream is to continue this tradition here in Los Angeles,
providing movie-goers a chance to view Italian films and at the same time to
honor some of the most successful Italians working in the film industry today,
both in the United States and abroad.
LAIFA's fast-developing success can be attributed to its illustrious new
advisory board which combines a selection of film industry principals and
other successful business persons. Among some of the board members are
Allessandra Venezia, journalist; William Stuart, producer (The Rock); Harris
E. Tulchin, entertainment lawyer; Jennifer Levine, talents manager; Wendy Jane
Carrel, Film/TV Consultant; Jef Nuyts, Achab Film, Rome; Dario Snaidero, CEO &
President, and Anna Paola Snaidero, Manager of Public Relations, Snaidero,

Slated to be one of the most popular and widely attended future events in
Southern California and backed by such illustrious board members, LAIFA
