International Biomechanics - Workshop

Gennadij Bogdanov. International BIOMECHANICS - Workshop

Since 1991 the MCB and Gennadij Bogdanow have been working on the practical and theoretical editing of Meyerhold's Biomechanic. Since then more than 500 actors from 15 countries have taken part in seminars, demonstrations, projects and productions. Bogdanov's work in several countries in Europe, Asia and in Australia, the USA as well as the video and the book published by MCB have increased the interest in the fundamentals and possibilities of Biomechanics for contemporary theatre work. The MCB offers the very strong international interest on Biomechanics a forum of practical work and exchange.

A. Beginners June / 4. - 9. 2001 (on our break) 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. DM 450,- no discount
in ENGLISH / RUSSIAN
Fundamentals of movement and preparing exercises of Biomechanics are taught. The basic principles of Biomechanics - otkas, posil, tormos, rakurs - are trained on selected single and partner etudes.

B. Advanced June / 11.-22. 2001 (sunday off, one our break) 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. DM 700,- no discount
in ENGLISH / RUSSIAN
The workshop is set up for actors, directors, dramaturgues and theatre sientists (or students of these categories), who did at least one beginners workshop of biomechanics before. The basic points of the workshop will be a daily training of the Etudes, the development of movement structures in a theatre space, the improvisation with Etudes on different undergrounds and slants of an construction and the work with masks, voice and text.

There exist the possibility to combine the workshop offers of the biomechanics A. + B. DM 980,- no discount.

Next to the INTERNATIONAL BIOMECHANICS Workshop will be a programm offer of video-lectures, discussions and visits in Berlin theatres. For our international participants the MCB helps to get contacts to hotels, pensions or privat accomodations. The participation fee is calculated exclusive travel costs, accomodation, catering or theatre tickets.
