In "Modern Mondays" contemporary filmmakers and moving image artists present their work
MoMA's ongoing showcase for innovation on screen, Modern Mondays allows contemporary filmmakers and moving image artists to present their work directly to audiences. Today artist Nina Konnemann (German, b. 1971) presents the first New York screenings of her short single-channel moving image works; according to critic Jan Verwoert, Konnemann's pieces "gently unhinge (viewers') sense of time and space. No special effects are used, and all the actions shown are real events, none of them what you might call spectacular." On January 18, American artist Zoe Beloff discusses several projects, including The Somnambulists, which examines the relationship between hysteria and theater.
