A project by Tim Etchells, part of the exhibition 'For Real!'
Let's make some noise! The artist and renowned theatre maker Tim Etchells invites all citizens and visitors of St. Gallen to collectively make one hour of noise on the streets of St. Gallen. Everyone is invited to gather at one of the three places bringing musical instruments, whistles, claxons, rattles, drums, pots and pans and other acoustic means of making sound. From these locations, groups will then process simultaneously to the centre where noise making will continue until 5 p.m. The collaborative sound work for public space offers a playful disruption to the tacit quotidian agreement about life in shared space. Do you want to join 'Hour of Noise' with a whole group (e.g. soccer fans, choir, "Guggenmusig" etc.)? Then sign up here: brauner@k9000.ch. Otherwise no registration is needed. 'Hour of Noise' is part of the exhibition 'For Real!' (until 23 January) which looks into the question of the effect of art on reality. Locations for gathering: Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (Davidstrasse 40); Palace (Blumenbergplatz); Stadtpark (city park, corner Museumsstrasse/Parkstrasse)
