sintesi del comunicato stampa

The Absent Stone, 2012, Mexico/USA, 80 min., documentary film by Sandra Rozental and Jesse Lerner. The film narrates the 1964 removal of the largest carved stone of pre-Hispanic Latin America from the town of San Miguel Coatlinchan to the National Museum of Anthopology in Mexico City, and the local community's struggle against the move, which was met with military intervention. Today a symbol of national identity, the stone is still missed in San Miguel Coatlinchan. On the same evening Mariana Castillo Deball will present the first issue of Ixiptla, a new biannual journal about trajectories in anthropology, initiated by the artist. The first issue is published on the occasion of You have time to show yourself before other eyes (2014), Castillo Deball's project for the 8th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. c/o Crash Pad, free entrance, limited capacity.
