SATURDAY MARCH 9TH AT 6:30 PM
PERFORMANCES BY DAVID MEDALLA & ADAM NANKERVIS

David Medalla
New York Epiphanies No 3, Pantheon of WASP and non-WASP saints
...a participatory performance by David Medalla, the founder and director of the London Biennale. This new performance by the Filipino artist (who grew in New York City in the early 50s) is a celebration of three iconic figures; Marilyn Monroe, Jams Dean and Piet Mondrian, whose particular relationships to the Big Apple have been a source of inspiration to David Medalla. David Medalla last performed in 1993 at the Cooper Union under the sponsorship of Franklin Furnace and the Jerome Foundation. He received a painting fellowship in 1992 from the New York Foundation of the Arts. He gave lectures on global cultures at the Museum of Modern Art in 1989, the year he exhibited at the Clock Tower Gallery. Medalla has also exhibited at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, and at Harlem Studio Museum. He last performed in Rio de Janerio and at the British Museum in London.

Adam Nankervis Deep Dive Down
...Inspired by Jean Genets "UnChant D'Amoo". The sharing of the exhaled smoke of one lover's breath through the hole of the partitioned walls of a prison cell, serving as both intimacy and love through the whispered binding smoke. Invisible arms of an embrace, where breath becomes the intimate joining. Adam Nankervis, Australian artist living in London and Berlin, former resident of New York City.
