Italian Design and the Photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo. Presenting more than 350 photographs from the Ballos, outstanding objects from international collections, publications, documents and movies, the exhibition is a panorama of a great period in design with fascinating insights into the relationship between the object and medium through which it's captured.
In the second half of the 20th century, Italian design achieved worldwide recognition.
The Milanese photographers Aldo and Marirosa Ballo played a considerable role in this
success with their photographs of classic pieces designed by Colombo, Sottsass and other
reputable designers of that era.
Presenting more than 350 photographs from the Ballos, outstanding objects from international
collections, publications, documents and movies, the exhibition is a panorama of a great period
in design with fascinating insights into the relationship between the object and medium through
which it’s captured.
In addition to the exhibition the Vitra Design Museum is offering a diverse program with
lectures, workshops, family days, special guided tours, movie nights and Italian dinners.
Zoom for children, a guided tour for children between 5-12 years of age will take place
every second Sunday of the month at 11:00am. Meanwhile, the parents can take part in the
architectural guided tour or visit the exhibition.

Public guided tours about the exhibition “Zoom. Italian Design and the Photography of Aldo
and Marirosa Ballo” at the Vitra Design Museum are offered every weekend and Holidays.
Every Saturday, Sunday and Holiday at 11:00am.
Charges: Entrance fee + 5,- €. Registration is not necessary.
